Yes, the aisles of good chocolate! I put up some pictures of those a little while back. THAT's what I want in Target here. And a whole aisle of M&Ms and Hershey's doesn't count.

I had to laugh so badly reading your post. I'm living in Switzerland and can tell you that indeed chocolate is here something very important and very patriotic to eat. I love the fact the here chocolate has a seperate lane or at least stand. I can agree with Alex that there's nothing better than Swiss chocolate ;)

I used to live in Switzerland. The grocery stores have rows of chocolate like in the US there are rows of chips and popcorn. And I mean GOOD chocolate. I miss most the chocolate with whiskey inside. Nothing can compare to Swiss chocolate. I can't eat anything else anymore. Except maybe chocolate from Puccini chocolate in Amsterdam!!!

have chocolate, will travel, is one of my mottos. i brought a new bar from my good stash with me to an academic conference, and i doubt i'll share... and the primary reason i want to go to paris (city of lights? romance? bread? fashion?) is chocolate. count me in. this is one war i can glady support, and offer my best chocolate eating talents to the effort!

Good idea about the T-shirts, Clarice! :) We can use Fuji Mama's posters, those are GREAT!

I'm going to have to grant you San Francisco, Laume, because when Sébastien went there for a conference last year he had strict instructions to visit a list of chocolatiers. He DID NOT DO IT AND IS STILL IN TROUBLE. But most people wouldn't travel to the US specifically for chocolate, would they? Like certain people--I'm not naming any names--might to France and Belgium and Switzerland?

Half a truffle at a time is pretty intense self-discipline, I have to tell you. But your husband definitely needs his own stash. The real reason for this in my household is to protect the husband's stash from ME, though, not the other way around (he eats more slowly--not properly motivated for the war; sometimes he eats one chocolate square a WEEK and then complains when the rest of the bar disappears off his desk when he's not looking).
